Getting started

Create a small workbook, calculate a total, and keep a copy.

Your first workbook

Open the Browser app link on this site, or launch an installed Hugtab desktop app. A workbook and grid open automatically. In the browser, the app first downloads its calculation runtime; wait for Saved in this browser before relying on persistence. Desktop shows Saved locally.

  1. Select A1, type 10, and press Enter.
  2. Select A2, type 20, and press Enter.
  3. Select B1. In the formula bar above the grid, enter =A1+A2 and press Enter.
  4. B1 should show 30. Select A1, change it to 15, and press Enter. B1 should now show 35.

The formula bar shows the active cell's address on its left. Selecting B1 shows the formula, while the grid shows its result.

Add another sheet

Choose the Add sheet plus button at the bottom left. The new sheet becomes active. Select a sheet tab to return to your calculation. The current UI adds and switches sheets; it does not offer sheet rename or deletion controls.

Keep a copy

  1. Return to the sheet containing your calculation.
  2. Open the download icon in the header (its accessible name is Export).
  3. Choose Download as CSV or Download as XLSX.

This exports the active sheet's values, not the full Hugtab workbook. To preserve workbooks and imported datasets in the browser, also download a full workbook backup.

For an existing table, choose Open and select a CSV or XLSX file. See import and export before relying on Excel document fidelity.
